# 5.1 About SMART tokens

SMART is a native token for fair start. Its only output is through Smart NFT, without any reservation or pre-mining. Global users can start it at the same time.

SMART is the driving force of the Smart Finance ecosystem. Users mine in three ways to get SMART tokens. The first choice is staking SMART through Smart NFT. All users will get a 7-day SMART Genesis mining period, and after that, the release of SMART will be adjusted and officially enter the community genesis phase. Thereafter, each block generates 600 SMARTs, which will be halved every 90 days until the output reaches 622.08 million.

After that, half of the output goes to early investment institutions and the operating platforms. The lock-up becomes more stringent as well, with a linear lock-up of up to 1000 days. The other half of the output goes to the community, with a simpler lock-up requirement of a 360-day linear release.

Total SMART supply: 646,272,000 pieces = 24,192,000 in the founding phase + 622,080,000 in the community genesis phase.
